I took a much longer route (2 years) than my peers to work in a field which I'm comfortable in. Consider how much I would have earn (in my savings & CPF) if I knew which direction and path I would have taken after graduation. Oh well, an expensive lesson indeed. Through my experiences, I discovered that sales is indeed not what I'm capable of. Yes, even though the potential of earning more $$$$ is very alluring, the constant pressure on hitting the sales quota was unbearable. Coupled with the fact that I have absolutely no knowledge & interest in the company's offerings, it was a dread to head to work everyday. It doesn't help that my previous company keep having last minute and unproductive evening meetings. ):
BUT my God is a good Father. He opened a door (ONLY 1 DOOR) for me, and I went for it knowing that I needed to do something to my back-then situation. I went for 2 rounds of interview & did online written test. I received a confirmation and was offered the job 2 days after the 2nd round of interview. ALL GLORY BE TO GOD! (((:
So the rest became history. Today marks my 4th working day in my new company, and I am really liking the culture and environment there. Colleagues are generally nice and helpful. I hope that I will be able to grow in my work capabilities, and take up extra roles in the company.
Guess that sums up what I've been up to for the past few months.
