There you go! Pure Yoga is an undisputed winner when it comes to giving its students the BEST environment for practicing hot yoga. Temperatures range from 37° to 43° for hot classes, and I must say that instructors are doing a pretty good job in balancing the humidity of the room so as to minimize the tendency of students passing out! It's a TORTURE CHAMBER! It's hardly surprising then, that this Hong-Kong originating lifestyle brand has garnered a strong and loyal following to the studio. And I'm proud to be one of them!
Pure Yoga has 2 studios locally, which are conveniently located at prime district areas in Orchard Road and Raffles Place. I signed up for exclusive access to Ngee Ann City outlet, so the following review are only applicable to this outlet.
Now, you may be interested to know why did I choose to root my practice in Pure Yoga over other studios?
First of all, Pure Yoga offers me not just the BEST environment to practice yoga, it also has the most extensive list of internationally certified yoga instructors teaching up a storm at every hour of the day. I've been to many studios, yet none of the instructors can make me feel as if I literally died in the class, and was resurrected after class. But that was how I personally felt after each class in Pure Yoga, mostly for the hot classes. And mind you, I've seen many yoga instructors from smaller boutique studios who came to Pure Yoga for training, workshops and classes. Why? Cos they only want to learn and be taught from the elites. So that speaks volume about the quality of instructors over in Pure Yoga.
I am a devoted follower to only a certain few yoga instructors, just cos' they killed me literally in every single session! Their teaching style varies widely, but the following few instructors gave the most intense workout session, like ever!
Secondly, I love how Pure Yoga offers many mixed-level curriculum of yoga classes round the clock, ranging from Yin, Ashtanga, Yin Yang, Restorative, Pure Air, Wall Rope Yoga to the more intense classes such as Hot Vinyasa and Hot Classic.
Level 1- For beginners.
Level 1.5/2 - For intermediate/advanced practitioners.
Level 3 - For advanced practitioners.
Classes start as early as 7am, and the latest class starts at 8.30pm on weekdays, so there's bound to be a class for you throughout the day. The management is very thoughtful to have introduced a staggered frequency of 15 minutes between each class, so yogis can freshen up and get themselves ready for the next class. I am a hard core yogi, whom used to clock in over 8-12 sessions per week. In recent weeks, I've learnt to better prioritize, thus cutting back on my practice, and truth to be told, I have never felt better. (:
Thirdly, Pure Yoga in Ngee Ann City is seriously clean and hygienic. The outlet boasts of FIVE spacious yoga studios, cosy members' lounge, changing rooms across a spacious 16,000 sq/ft space.
There is ample space in between mats, so fret not about hitting your neighbors when attempting certain poses. The army of staff is so dedicated to their jobs that they are ever ready to clean the mats, floor immediately after a class to ensure everything is clean and dry for the next class.

- Jacqueline - Her hot vinyasa practice differs in every class. Absolutely adore how she's able to infuse positive energy and inspiration to her students. Her teaching style is rather playful, and every session will involve some floor poses from Hot Classic. Looking back, it was in her class where I managed to do a proper forward fold.
- Rene - He enjoys seeing his students suffer. No doubt about that. Hahaha! His vinyasa teaching style is constantly flowing, with no breaks in between sets. Mostly focused on Sun salutation and standing series. Full class attendance is a mark of the love his students have for him.
- Kristin K - She's the only instructor who offers proper alignment to her students, consistently. If she adjusts your pose on the left side, be sure to have her do the same for your right side as well. Her teaching style is a good mix of flow and intense stretch. Be sure to feel soreness in your legs after her class.
- Morgan - Intense x Strong x Inspirational. These are the words to describe Morgan's teaching style. Her holds in Hot Classic are deep and long, while her vinyasa teaching style consists mostly of Standing poses and constant flow. You only stop when the class ends. You need to be in her class to be inspired. I know I have.

The versatility of the outlet's minimalist look is enhanced with wood theme that brings about such warmth in the outlet. Don't believe? Just take a look at the photos!
Retail space is very well stocked with yoga apparels from Pure Yoga's in-house brand as well as Lululemon! Just think about Yoga x Shopping. How sweet!
Oh, and did I forgot to mention that Pure Yoga offers you with complimentary teas as well - Ginger/Red Date/Jasmine? Take your pick!
Ahhh, let me talk about the female changing room. I'm someone who detest small changing rooms, not to mention about the limited number of shower cubicles that's available. Back at smaller studios, I rather travel back home in my stinky clothes and shower than waiting over half an hour for my turn to shower. I hate waiting, like seriously. Well, over at Pure Yoga, such worries are needless! The changing room is spanking clean and spacious. With over 30 showers, there's no need to leave a class 5 minutes earlier just to chiong for that shower cubicle. I have never queue up for shower after class, so it's a big plus point for Pure Yoga! Also, I'm happy that they have huge vanity spaces with premium hairdryer. Oh yes, the lockers over at Pure Yoga come with electronic locks combination, so your barang barangs will be kept safe while you flow in class!
Having mentioned the above attributes, if I were you readers, I'd be wondering about the pricing. Right anot? The price package is pretty decent for a working adult like myself, considering my needs are met . Their pricing starts from $170+/month for an annual membership.
So if you see yourself as an avid yogi who has the time to flow at least twice a week, I say "What are you waiting for? Get a complimentary trial at Pure Yoga now!"
Do call up the Ngee Ann City outlet, ask for my consultant Shah, and quote my name "Sherlene Lian" for complimentary trial.
So see you beautiful people in my next flow class!
Namaste!
xoxo
